Competition Prize money

Some of you have noticed the the comp sheets on the notice board only show first prize money. the Competition committee say

Competition Prize Money

The Competitions Committee currently endeavour and review giving prize money of not less than £15 for the Winner(s) and £10 for the Runner(s) up but, as has been pointed out, for some competitions this means that on occasion we run them at a loss.

In the past we have “robbed Peter to pay Paul’ ie the income from some competitions has been used to support less popular competitions, but this now has to come to an end.

 As far as possible each competition must pay for itself and therefore, we only now pay a first prize of £15 and where possible, and where the number of entrants justifies it, pay a second prize of £10. 

Should there be sufficient entrants into a competition and therefore entrance fees, then the Committee may decide to increase these prize monies.
